Week 2 Post

The main digital platforms I use on a daily basis are my laptop and my cell phone. My laptop connects me to my teachers, friends and family through the different webpages such as Blackboard and Facebook. The main purpose is to connect and communicate. My phone connects me to friends, family and basically anyone else I wanted to connect or communicate with. Using apps like instagram or text messaging, I can instantly connect with anyone I choose to. No matter the length of distance, it can happen within seconds. Being here in Chico, I don’t get to see or talk to all of my friends everyday. Being able to text them or call them real quick shapes our friendship into a stronger bond. If it wasn’t for these types of technology, it would be such a hassle to stay in touch with people you have been distanced from that the relationships would simply, crumble.

Research questions that could develop from her claim could include:

  • How, as college students, would we deal with no cell phone for a year? Would we find other means of communication or just learn to live without it? Would we constantly feel as if apart of us was missing when we left the house?
